Point Right Existentialism is a philosophical movement which emphasizes on individual existence, freedom, and choice.
There are several philosophical positions all related to existential philosophy but the main identifiable common proposition, is that existence precedes essence. By this, existentialism states that man exists and in that existence man defines himself and the world in his own subjectivity, and wanders between choice, freedom, and existential angst.Point Left

We are a new group to DA called The Existentialists. While we are not interested in actively imposing our beliefs upon the community, we would be very pleased to welcome those who share our philosophies and beliefs. I just told my phone to shut up for interrupting Nature and Organisation's "Bloodstreamruns." How existential can you get? Talk about a confrontation with absurdity!

This world is quite absurd. :kissjarksass:

Little white flowers will never awaken you,
Not where the black coach of sorrow has taken you.
Angels have no thought of ever returning you.
Would they be angry if I thought of joining you?

Note to all here: Look into a book called "Man's Search For Meaning" by Viktor Frankl. It's about his experiences in a concentration camp and of how people survived that. He goes into his own psychological theories which clearly and directly have existentialist (as well as some related humanist) influences. To really simply his ideas, he believes each person needs unconditional meaning to find contentment.

I will repost this (I think) and possibly some quotes from the book I liked in a journal entry later. Hopefully someone will see this anyway.
